Even though I've only been working as a full-time freelance graphic designer and illustrator for 2 years I had my identity for almost 10 years when I was still working in agencies in both Belgium and the Netherlands. Despite the fact that I am still happy with it's overall look and feel it does look a little dated by todays standards.
So I felt a rebrand was in order. In the end the new 3rd Floor branding needed to be bold, striking and contemporary yet timeless and easy to apply to a large number of different media. It's minimal look ensures it can be added just about anywhere in a consistent manner without being overly dominant maintaining a sophisticated appearance.
With the introduction of tablets and smartphones multimedia is accessible everywhere. That is why no branding is complete without an animated version of their logo.
The brand is in itself colorless. Most commonly it will be applied in black and white but; due to it's strong and minimal shape; can adopt just about any color scheme. This makes the brand flexible and easy to use in combination with other brands, on a secondary level and in combination with special finishes or materials.
